MEET OUR JUDGE OF AWARDS:

ADRIAN GUILIANI

Adrian Giuliani is an international award winning pastel artist, who has been painting in pastels for 40 years. While in high school, Adrian had the good fortune of studying with Flora Giffuni.  She graduated with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design, where pastels became her medium! She was elected a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America in 2014, achieving her IAPS Master Circle status in 2019.  She is known for her contemporary florals, still lifes and self portraits.

In the PSA 2020 Enduring Brilliance Exhibition, Adrian was honored to be recognized with the Daniel E. Greene PSA-MP, HFH Memorial Award by awards juror, Marjorie Shelley, pastel expert at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  She won an Award of Excellence in the IAPS Pastel World Master Circle Exhibition at the 2024 IAPS Convention.

Adrian loves sharing her unique perspectives and methods of working.  Using both observation from life and a great deal of freedom, she encourages her students to explore fearlessly.  She teaches both an in-person pastel class and an ongoing PSA Zoom class, entitled Finding Your Freedom Through Observation, Exploration and Joy.  Her artwork was on the cover of the 2021 issue of Pastelagram, and she had a recent featured article in the Pastel Journal.  Adrian's work is in the permanent collection of the National Arts Club.
