We know! So many shows overlapping, IAPS, life in general!

We've extended the deadline on Show Submit to July 4, with notification by July 16. We hope it frees up some work and some time for you!

Our incredible Members Show of 96 paintings is now available as a slide show for viewing on YouTube. The full gallery is also available as separate images on our Exhibition page, along with the award winners and the comments from awards judge Michele Poirier Mozzone. Like something that's for sale? Let us know and we'll help you acquire it.

Congratulations again to all who entered to represent the diversity and talent of CMPS membership. Enjoy the show!

Our first in-person national show opens for submissions on Show Submit on May 1. The prospectus is currently available on both Show Submit and here on our website.

We are excited to have UK artist Liz Balkwill and New Mexico artist Natasha Isenhour as our Selection Jurors. And this is a great opportunity to get your work in front of a museum curator: our Judge of Awards is Katie Hanson, an expert in pastel and impressionism, of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Katie will be judging awards in person--yay!--and also be at our reception to present the awards.

Our venue, Fivesparks, is located in the affluent and historic MetroWest area of Boston, and makes a wonderful day trip for artists and collectors alike. Mark your calendar for the reception on Saturday, September 10, 4-6 pm.

And best of luck in submitting your beautiful work!

Our 2022 Members Show is now open for submissions on Show Submit. You may view the prospectus there or here on our website under Upcoming Exhibitions.

Our juror, Michele Poirier Mozzone, is excited to see the work of all our members, and is looking forward to giving what I think will be a fascinating talk associated with the show. Using two paintings of the identical scene, one in pastel and one in oil, Michele will discuss how pastel taught her to understand and layer color.

We ask all our members to submit your best work to this show that celebrates the spirit of CMPS as a place to learn, grow, and share our diverse artistic perspectives at all points of our individual art journeys. Your participation means a lot to us.

We are thrilled to launch this new website, designed to more easily share information and opportunities with you; provide more visibility, convenience, and community engagement for our members; and communicate more broadly with artists and the public everywhere.

The website is a work in progress—we wanted to get the basics out to you—so check back soon to peruse member-only resources (another reason to join!) as we complete our build-out and add to our schedule of events.

We invite you to explore our calendar, which contains an enticing program of demos and workshops scheduled so far, and our schedule of exhibits; just click on any item for details, some of which are now open for registration.

As a brief summary, our 2022 schedule includes:

    ·       Demos with Laura Pollak, Michele Kenna, and Mike Beeman (free to members and only $20 for nonmembers).

    ·       Workshops with Jacob Aguiar, Lisa Regopolous, Alexia Rosoff, Laura Pollak, and Maryann Mullett, offering you a blend of online and in-person experiences and a range of subject matter.

    ·       Our Marks of Distinction National Show, in person in September, and our Members Show, online in May.

It is wonderful to contemplate getting together  face-to-face and viewing art in person again. We hope to see you in 2022.

Thank you for reading and being part of CMPS,

    Jane

This year's Marks of Distinction national show will be held in person for the first time this year, at Fivesparks, an arts center in Harvard, MA. The show will run from September 1 to September 28.

We are really looking forward to having a physical show. Viewing art in person and coming together with our fellow artists will be a treat. See you at the reception! The prospectus will be available on Show Submit and on this website in April.
