Dina Gardner

I’m Dina Gardner and I’m super late to the party with my painting career.  I never attended art school and I wasn't a particularly creative kid.  I liked doing "arts and crafts" but I never pined for art lessons or had any interest in studying art history. In fact, I had no concept of the color wheel prior to picking up my first pastel stick in 2016.  But I was hooked on this amazing medium after my first class; I put in my 10,000 hours, created a gazillion bad paintings and, well, here I am.

I split my time between Boston, MA and Manhattan Beach, CA and I find inspiration everywhere.  My first love is traveling and when I’m not painting I’m probably having an adventure way off the beaten path. I’m inspired by so many things, both natural and manmade.  These inspirations make their way to my easel and that keeps painting fun and exciting.  I teach classes when I’m in one place long enough to put my feet on the ground and if I’m not teaching, I’m taking classes from other pastelists, painters, potters, and musicians.  I am an unabashed lifetime learner whose motto is Carpe Diem.
